Five members of the PDP, on Tuesday, announced their defection to the APC on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The
development was apparently a fallout of the just-concluded primaries of
political parties. But, in a twist, five APC members also formerly
informed the House that they had joined the Social Democratic Party. The
latter group were known supporters of a former Governor of Ogun State,
Mr. Segun Osoba, the SDP financier.
Among the
defectors were his son, Mr. Olumide Osoba. Among those who left the PDP
for the APC was Mr. Ibrahim El-Sudi, the lawmaker who investigated the
alleged collapse of the Nigerian Capital Market and recommended the
sacking of the DG of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ms Arunmah
Oteh.
