The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has suspended its planned strike scheduled to commence December 1, 2014.

This, the union decided, following intervention by the Supervising Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr. Kabiru Saminu Turaki at a meeting with the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Otunla, representatives of the National Judicial Council, Federal Judicial Service Commission and the Federal Ministry of Finance.

In a MoU signed at the end of the meeting which held Thursday evening in Abuja, the meeting noted that the figures submitted by the union, which were in contention, have been reconciled with the budgeted estimates by the States’ Accountants-General.

"Based on the above, it was concluded that the Accountant-General of the Federation will make deductions during the next FAAC meeting to the NJC in line with the court judgement based on the actual funds released that can be defended by the respective states and duly concurred by JUSUN," it read.
The union had threatened to resume its suspended strike after accusing the AGF of misleading the public on the release of October allocation to the NJC, for disbursement to workers.
